StableWood Decking is natural
stabilized lumber.
It is treated with
EnviroSafe Plus®, a process
that protects wood from decay and
infestation with environmentally-
friendly Borates, then seals them
with a colorless binder/stabilizer.
Deck Care

As with any pressure treated wood product, in order to make sure that your deck retains its long term beauty and serviceability, we suggest the following steps for the care of your deck.

Your new deck may be painted, sealed, or stained within two to four weeks after installation or depending on your local weather conditions, after it has dried. However, painting, sealing or staining of your deck is not required to protect or preserve the wood.

Our experience has shown that, unless your deck contains handling related marks or discoloration, it is not necessary to pre-clean or pressure wash your deck before applying a high-quality coating or sealant.

Protecting Your Deck
We suggest that you use a quality coating or sealant on your deck. There are many high-grade coatings available at your local building supply or paint store.

We have had successful experience with coatings and stains sold by Sherwin-Williams and Samuel Cabot, Inc. To locate a store near you call Sherwin-Williams at 1 800 474 3794 (or visit their web site: www.sherwin-williams.com) and Samuel Cabot, Inc. at 1 800 877 8246, (their web site: www.cabotstain.com).

You should use a high-quality coating that provides you with the UV protection and finishes that you desire. We recommend that you test the products you select, in advance, to make sure they are compatible with your decking and produce the results you expect to achieve.

Continued Care
You can determine the care your deck requires by its use and appearance. Local conditions will effect the amount and type of maintenance for your deck. The better care you take of your deck, the longer it will retain its beauty and serviceability.
